"To tell great stories, you need great talent.” The Ride of a Lifetime by Robert Iger is an inspiring page-turner about Iger's illustrious career as the CEO of Walt Disney Company. Here’s my bookish husband’s review:

For someone who grew up watching Disney shows with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and later becoming a fan of Marvel and Pixar movies, this semi autobiography is a fascinating read. Iger tells of how he began his career as a studio supervisor for ABC television before eventually becoming the CEO of Disney, and how he navigated the acquisition of Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm.

Iger is a great storyteller, weaving his story with business lessons based on his experiences while sharing insightful details of key milestones in his career. I especially like the part where he takes readers through the roller coaster ride of negotiating with Steve Jobs on buying Pixar and developing an enduring friendship with him.

Many who know the Disney brand would find this an interesting read, and the lessons Iger imparts from his experiences, valuable and thought-provoking. Highly recommended for teens and adults!
