READ & REVIEWED: The Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley

A fast-paced and action-packed series about two young detectives solving crimes and mysteries involving fairy-tale characters.

Middle-grade book series recommendation from my 9-year-old: The Sisters Grimm by Michael Buckley! Orphaned sisters, Sabrina and Daphne Grimm, are sent to live with their grandmother in the strange town of Ferryport Landing where they learn they are descendants of the famous Brothers Grimm, whose classic book of fairy tales is really a crime casebook. In the nine-book series, the newly-minted fairy-tale detectives solve intriguing crimes and mysteries like murders, thefts and their parents' disappearance.

Little E says, "This series is fast-paced and action-packed. In every story there is a mystery to be solved and there is always a twist or shocking revelation. This is now my favourite fairy-tale retelling!" She reckons this is suitable for those 9 and up.

If you are wondering why the books in our collection look different, well, we couldn't get all the books from a single source and we bought them from different places like Times, Sg Bookmarket and Book Depository to collect the whole series. My favourite is the hard cover ones which have a really classic look but Little E prefers the newer and more colourful versions. Which do you prefer? 😁 Hope you are having a lovely week! 😉
