The Essential Study Guide for Secondary 1 Science by WS Education is a comprehensive and well laid out study guide that helps consolidate learning for students.
Big E is in Sec 1 this year and honestly, I'm quite clueless on how to guide her in her studies and what additional materials to buy as the secondary school syllabus is really beyond me đ So, I was really grateful when World Scientific Education (WS Education) sent over their newly-published Essential Study Guide for Secondary 1 Science!
I gave this to Big E and asked her to let me know what she thought of it. Here's what she said, "The notes are very comprehensive, well laid out and relevant, with good-to-know info in the 'extension' parts of the guide. The MCQ & structured questions in each chapter and detailed answer sheets also help to consolidate learning." So, it's a thumbs-up from Big E đ
This is a comprehensive study guide for Sec 1 Express/Normal (Academic) students based on the latest syllabus by the Singapore Ministry of Education, and complements the Science for Lower Secondary textbooks 1A & 1B. You can find this at World Scientific's Lazada store (there's 15% off till 20 March!) and certain POPULAR outlets.
When the kids move on to secondary school, they are expected to take charge of their own learning and be more independent. As parents we may not need to be as hands-on as we used to be in primary school, but if we could still support them in little ways and let them know we are still there for them should they need help or guidance, the kids will know they're not alone in their journey.
