All Brains Are Wonderful by Scott Evans is a super accessible and engaging read for kids curious about how their minds work. The brain is famously complex, but this book breaks it down in a way that’s both age-appropriate and genuinely fascinating.

It covers the science-y bits - like the different parts of the brain and what they do - and also dives into real-life stuff kids can relate to, like mental health, self-care and being inclusive of different kinds of brains. So, it’s not only about facts but also about feelings, empathy and understanding yourself and others.

Understanding how their brains work benefit children beyond science class. For instance, the book touches on neuroplasticity, which shows kids that their brains can grow and change with effort. It also introduces neurodiversity, helping children see that everyone’s brain works a little differently and that’s something to celebrate, not fix.

I reckon this one’s perfect for upper primary kids (10–12 years old), but older readers who are just starting to explore brain science will find it a great intro too.
