小布丁带你游中国 (Xiao Bu Ding Dai Ni You Zhong Guo) has got to be one of the most impressive picture books I've ever seen! This accordion picture book takes you on a tour of China's 34 provincial divisions, with loads of interesting highlights and fun facts sprinkled in. Did you know the Tianjin Eye is the world's only giant ferris wheel that is built on a bridge? There actually is a 火焰山 in China's Gansu province? Zhajiang noodles is believed to orginate from an old noodle shop in Beijing?

The illustration is detailed and stunning, and there is so much to see and enjoy as the book is very long - literally! Please see pic below where a flight of stairs is not enough to fit the entire length of the book 😅

If you are planning a trip to China, this would make a great introduction to your child about the country. This is also one adults would appreciate. Frankly, reading this really makes me want to go to China for a holiday!

Language-wise, it is not too daunting to read as the fun facts are presented in snippets and short sentences. I reckon upper primary kids with a good grasp of Chinese can attempt this on their own (though I would confess that I cannot read every single word in the book 😅). That said, I think it'd be more fun to read this together with your child as if you're touring China together 😊
