With vibrant colours and beautiful illustrations, Usborne Life-The-Flap Periodic Table is chockful of fun, bite-sized facts about the periodic table and its elements.
Did you know that titanium is named after mythological Greek giants called titans because it is so strong? Or lithium is a metal but it's so soft you can cut it with a knife? All these I learned from Usborne Lift-the-Flap Periodic Table book, which is chockful of fun bite-sized facts about the periodic table and its elements 😊
While Lift-the-flap books are usually for preschoolers, this is one for the older kids. Our children here don't learn the periodic table till they are in secondary school but I reckon this is a great introduction for primary school kids.
The facts are interesting and worded such that they are easy for children to understand e.g. "Silver is the most reflective metal, so it's often used as a coating for mirrors." "When tin gets very cold, it crumbles into dust."
The vibrant colours, cute illustrations and humour injected in every page are very attractive for children. In fact, the book is a big hit with Big E (who is in secondary school) and Little E (in primary school) - they enjoyed all the fun tidbits in the book and came to tell me the interesting new ones they had learnt 😄
