Thank you for attending the online book launch of My BFF Is an Alien: Turbulence at the Asian Festival of Children's Content!
Thank you to those who had attended Friday's online book launch of My BFF Is an Alien: Turbulence at the Asian Festival of Children's Content 2021! I had a wonderful time sharing with everyone my writing process and the fun facts and real-life inspirations of Turbulence 😉
I was particularly thrilled to see a number of children listening diligently to the session (as seen from those whose cameras were on 😆). I hope both kids and adults had enjoyed the book talk and some good laughs when the poster behind me fell (see below for the moment captured by my hubs 😆)!
Of the number of times I had put up posters as backdrops for Zoom talks, this was the first time it had ever fallen! Pretty glad I was wearing a proper dress; a top over home shorts wouldn't have been a good look when I got up to fix the poster 😁
Thank you to the AFCC, Singapore Book Council and Epigram Books for making this book launch happen. Also, my heartfelt thanks to those who shared their pics/vids of the session with me and on social media 🙏 A recorded video of the session should be available on a later date, and I hope to share it with ya'll then.
Meanwhile the AFCC is happening till this Sunday 30 May, with a few online talks also happening on 3-5 June. Do check out its programmes which feature renowned local and international authors and illustrators. There are also other book talks happening the next few days which are free for all to attend - I'll definitely be attending! Personally I think it is a great way for readers and aspiring writers to learn more about the inspiration and thought process behind children's books 😉
