READ & REVIEWED: Last Kid Running series by Don Bosco
Young readers will be thrilled by Last Kid Running, an exciting and action-packed middle-grade gamebook series by Don Bosco.
How many of you grew up with Choose Your Own Adventure books? 🙋🏻♀️ I did! I remember having so much fun making various choices in these gamebooks so as to get different endings for the stories 😆 Now my girls are having the same fun reading the Last Kid Running gamebook series by Don Bosco. They were really excited to find in the library the third and latest book of the series - The Supergame!
In this series, you're a contestant on Last Kid Running, a reality TV show streaming on the mobile web. You have to clear all levels in the game across Southeast Asian locations, beat other contestants, win votes from viewers, and progress up the ranks until you are the Last Kid Running. Get ready for mazes, obstacles and endurance challenges as you choose the paths to take at various scenes! In the third and final book, the pandemic strikes but a home-based VR version of the event brings more twists, thrills and tricky challenges!
Little E, my 10-year-old, says, "This series is exciting and action-packed! I like that I get to choose what happens in the story and decide on what happens to the main character." BTW she made it to the end to be the Last Kid Running 😁 This series is suitable for those 10 years and up, and is available at the National Library and major Singapore bookstores.
If you're wondering about the contraption Little E is wearing in the pics, it is VR goggles she got from her coding class. When you watch VR vids on your phone thru the goggles, it's like you are on a VR ride😆
