The Feathered Frenzy event at NEX mall in Singapore has cute displays from The Angry Birds Movie 2 that make great photo ops, alongside meet-and-greets with movie characters and a sure-win lucky draw that will give you a chance to win movie memorabilia.
Look what I chanced upon at NEX mall today – Feathered Frenzy, a The Angry Bird Movie 2 event ahead of the movie’s official release on September 5!
The event which just started on August 29 is happening at basement 2 at the outdoor Event Plaza near the customer service counter. It is not huge compared to the Spider-Man: Far From Home Adventure event which took place on a larger scale at Nex's atrium level in June, but its still got really cute movie-themed displays that makes great photo ops. The kids weren’t with me, so its just me, I'm afraid! I showed the kids the pics and they thought they [displays and Mum] looked adorable too!
And if you’re a NEXrewards member – which is free to join and you can easily sign up for it by downloading the NExrewards app – a minimum spend of $20 in a single receipt will give you a chance to win #AngryBirdsMovie2 memorabilia. Though you win this by playing a claw machine game, it’s a sure-win thing because 1) the claw is definitely tighter than those stuff toy claw machine games and 2) the staff gave me tokens till I caught a ball. Ha!
There are 10,000 assorted prizes to be won, according to the event poster. I didn’t win any of the cute Angry Bird memorabilia btw but 200 NEXrewards points which is fine by me as you can accumulate them and redeem them for NEX vouchers in the future.
There are also meet-and-greets with movie characters at 1230pm and 430pm every Saturdays and Sundays till September 15. You can redeem a photo pass that will admit four pax for a photo op with Angry Bird characters Red, Chuck, Silver and the Hatchlings with a minimum spend of $20 in a receipt. This is also for NEXrewards members only. But note that you can EITHER opt for this photo pass OR play the claw game above! And each member is only allowed to redeem for these activities ONCE during the event.

Popped by again on a Saturday and this time we saw a game zone! Not many people noticed it too give that it was behind the displays but the kids had a few tries on it.
And we were just in time to catch the movie characters! The queue for the photo-taking with the birds wasn't too long [you need to use your receipt to redeem for a photo pass. See above]. It had only about ten people or so at 1230pm when we were there on Saturday.
Now the next thing would be to catch the movie! Much as reviews for the first movie wasn’t fantastic (just over 40% at Rotten Tomatoes!), we still enjoyed it and we’ll probably catch the second movie after it's officially released here on September 5. We're already finding the trailer really funny!
